When you’re writing one or more posts a day like a few bloggers you’re bound to run out of ideas eventually. If you want to keep traffic coming to your blog while feeding out fresh ideas and posts what are you supposed to do when you run out of things to write about? Here are a few ideas on how to keep your content fresh.

  • Read Other Blogs:
Reading other people’s blogs is a great way to get fresh ideas on what to post about. I personally read between 20-50 blogs a day (some people that read 100+). While reading these blogs I get a plethora of ideas on what to write about.Reading other blogs also helps you keep track of the trends in your niche. If a lot of people are posting about a certain thing it probably means that topic is a hot topic. If you jump on the boat with your own fresh perspective there will be people to listen.
  • Talk About Real Life:
Did something just happen in real life thats newsworthy? Did an influential blogger just get hacked? Maybe something happened in your local community that relates to your blogging niche. All of these things can be blog worthy, and are a great place to start getting ideas from.Reading the newspaper, whether it be the one thrown on your doorstep or an online one, is another great place to get ideas from. For example a few weeks ago there was news about the U.S Government possible making it possible for bloggers to have the same copyright protection as journalists and writers. This is important in the blogging community and you could write a week long series about it.
  • Expand on Someone Else’s Idea:
Let’s say you were searching through one of your favourite blogs when you see that they wrote a post on the latest Apple products. You read over the article but decide that you don’t agree with what the person said. A great post for you would be to write a response. You should of course give credit to the original author.

Here are three ideas that can help generate your own ideas for your blog. If you’re having troubles posting every day or even once a week try out these few things. Remember, always post about things you enjoy and try to keep it within your niche (if your blog is about fishing don’t post about SEO topics).
